The Globe Theatre The Globe Theatre was the theatre in which Shakespeare's most famous plays were performed. The theatre is built in a circular shape. It was originally built in 1599 on the South Bank Of The River Thames. The theatre went up in flames in 1613, it was rebuilt the following year then knocked down in 1644. It was rebuilt again in 1649. The globe theatre was built in it's original spot, just outside the walls of London. Shakespeare's plays are still performed in The Globe Theatre today.
