The Plot Of Two Tragedies Macbeth-Macbeth is play about a young man who wants to become King. Macbeth doesn't let anything or anyone get in his way. He believes in words of three witches, that he will become the Thane Of Cawdor and then become King. During his promotion to Thane Of Cawdor, he kills King Duncan and frames it on Duncan's servants. Macbeth then becomes King. Anyone suspicious about the murder was killed. He has a whole family executed, a member of the family not killed, starts a plot to overthrow Macbeth. Lady Macbeth kills herself due to he actions throughout the play. Macbeth is later killed by a man called Macduff and a man named Malcolm becomes king. Romeo And Juliet- This play begins with the feud of two families, The Capulet's and The Montague's. Romeo is a member of The Montague family and Juliet is a member of The Capulet family. Romeo and Juliet meet at a party hosted by the Capulets and instantly fall in love. The confess there love later in the play with Romeo in the Capulet garden and Juliet on her balcony. They married the next day. Mercutio a friend of Romeo's has a duel with Tybalt a cousin of Juliet. Romeo finds out and confesses his love for Juliet in front of both men, Romeo and Tybalt then begin to duel. Romeo wins and Tybalt is killed, Romeo is then banished from the city. Juliet takes a potion in order to make her appear dead so she doesn't have to marry a man she doesn't want to. Romeo however finds her in the Capulet crypt, thinking she is dead, drinks a vial of poison and instantly dies. When Juliet woke she found Romeo dead, as she can not live without him she takes his dagger and stabs herself. The next day both The Capulets and The Montague's bury their dead children, the decide to end the feud. The Plot Of Two Comedies Midsummer Night's Dream- Midsummer Night's Dream is a play about love and marriage. The play begins with Hermia refusing to marry Demetrius, she escapes to the woods with Lysander the man she is in love with. Helena is in love with Demetrius and is aware of the plan, she tells Demetrius and they follow Lysander and Hermia through the woods. In the woods the fairy King and Queen known as Oberon and Titania are arguing. Oberon then tells the elf Puck, to give his wife, the queen a love potions. Puck also puts a spell on Lysander and Demetrius. The consequences of the love potion is that the Queen falls in love with Nick Bottom, and both boys Lysander and Demetrius fall in love with Helena. Hermia is angered that none of the boys now want her, so her and Helena fight each other and the boys fight also about who gets Helena. Oberon then removes the the spell on all but Demetrius. The Merchant Of Venice- The Merchant Of Venice is a play about Bassanio a young nobleman in financial trouble. He is trying to win Portia but needs money in order to compete for her. The will of Portia's father says that whoever wants to marry her needs to complete a series of riddles to stay in competition for her. Bassanio solves all of the riddles and Portia is happy about it. The consequences of borrowing money catch up with Bassanio, as he borrowed the money from a friends, who borrowed it from someone else. The Plot Of Two Histories King John- They play King John is about the disputes that are unresolved by family members. Many people have been killed due to the disputes. John's sister in law Constance enters into a power struggle, she finds away to get her son Arthur in line for the French Throne. There is a war which Arthur is said to be killed in, Constance kills herself after finding out. In a turn around of events we find out that Arthur was just in prison, but later dies after trying to escape and falling into rocks. King John is then poisoned. John's son Henry becomes king at the end of the play. Richard II- Richard II is a play about the later years of Richard II ruling. In this play there is a lot of conflict about people wanting to overthrow Richard as King, they believed he was a lazy King, unworthy of the throne. Richard later gives up his throne to Henry Bolingbroke. Richard leaves is wife and is imprisoned at the Pomfret Castle. Richard is murdered at the castle by a man named Exton, who was a friend of Henry thinking that the King wanted him dead.
